A Message of Support

Members of the Newark Venture Partners Community:

Over the past several weeks, the troubling and unacceptable rise in anti-Asian acts of racism has impacted many within the NVP family.  While we don’t have all the answers, we want to express our support and allyship for our friends, family, and colleagues in the Asian Americans and Pacific Islander community.  To those of you on the NVP team and within our extended network, know that as an organization and as individuals, we stand with you and against hate always.

We encourage everyone to educate themselves on the Asian American experience and the historical context of this issue, as well as ways to support the community.  We’ve compiled some resources below that might be helpful for those looking for a place to start.

In addition, our partners have shared meaningful messages worth reading on this topic, including this one from Audible. And for those of you looking to expand the conversation on current events, racism in general, and the important intersections and divisions between communities and religions, consider signing up for Rutgers “Unpacking Hate” forum this Friday.

Finally, we are open to your ideas on how we can further the conversation, and we encourage you to reach out to us with your thoughts, concerns, and any additional needs for support.
