history & community

Don Katz, the Founder and Executive Chairman of Audible, initiated a transformative chapter in 2016 when he galvanized New Jersey’s business community to back Tom Wisniewski and Dan Borok as Founding Managing Partners of newark venture partners (nvp). Fueled by his unwavering passion for tech startups and a profound belief in the potential of venture capital, Don’s vision was clear: to create a next-generation venture capital firm that would invest globally, be deeply rooted in the community, and nurture the next wave of Audible-like startups.

Don’s ongoing leadership and advocacy for social responsibility continue to shine brightly and serve as a guiding light for nvp’s commitment to investment excellence and community engagement.

today nvp supports:

Boys and Girls Club Newark (BGCN) empowers children and families, and has developed a STEM programming for students. BGCN has carried interest in NVPII.

Braven works to solve the education-to-employment gap for low-income and underrepresented college students. Braven has carried interest in NVP III.

nvp is a founding member of the Black Venture Capital Consortium, working with HBCU students and fellows to create a more diverse ecosystem for VC and startup industries.
